Ben Gibson: Middlesbrough academy can take credit for award

England Under-21 defender Ben Gibson tells BBC Look North that Middlesbrough's academy deserves credit after he picked up the North East Writers' Young Player of the Year award for 2014.

Gibson was named after establishing himself in Aitor Karanka's first team at the Riverside, and also making a breakthrough at international level under former Boro manager and captain Gareth Southgate.

Another former graduate of Boro's academy set-up, Sunderland midfielder Lee Cattermole, won the senior award.
