Yaya Toure: 'Big competition' for BBC 2014 AFOTY award

Winner of the BBC African Footballer of the Year in 2013, the Manchester City and Ivory Coast midfielder continued in impressive form in 2014, winning the English Premier League title and the League Cup. Toure scored 20 Premier League goals as City won the title for the second time in three years.

Toure played at the World Cup in Brazil, where Ivory Coast were denied a place in the knock-out stages for the first time after a late 2-1 loss to Greece. On his nomination, Toure says: "It's fantastic, I'm in a big competition with a couple of lads who are doing very well at the moment".
