Cyprus friendly 'important' says N Ireland boss O'Neill

Northern Ireland manager Michael O'Neill says Wednesday's friendly in Cyprus is an important game for his side as the European Championship qualifiers loom.

Three of Northern Ireland's opening four Euro 2016 qualifiers will be away from home and O'Neill believes the Nicosia contest and the further away friendlies in Uruguay and Chile in May and June will offer his team invaluable preparation for the next campaign.

O'Neill added that he is delighted that experienced West Brom defender Gareth McAuley has committed to another qualifying campaign.
