Carlos Valderrama says Colombia must improve World Cup performance

Former Colombia captain Carlos Valderrama says that his country must improve on their World Cup performances in 1994 and 1998 if they qualify for the tournament in Brazil next year.

Valderrama, now 52, was part of a golden generation of Colombian players that included Faustino Asprilla and Freddy Rincon who famously went to Argentina and beat them 5-0 on their way to qualifying for the 1994 World Cup in the USA.

Colombia are second behind Argentina in their qualifying group for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
