Bristol City v Bristol Rovers: John Ward riled by pitch invasion

Bristol Rovers manager John Ward says he was "hurt and disappointed" after fans invaded the pitch following their 2-1 defeat by Bristol City in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy.

It was the first time the two local rivals had met in seven years and both clubs had appealed for calm prior to Wednesday's match.

Goals from Jay Emmanuel-Thomas and Joe Bryan cancelled out Mark McChrystal's header to send City through to the second round of the competition.
