West Ham 0-1 Stoke: Sam Allardyce admits Stoke played better

West Ham manager Sam Allardyce admits Stoke were the better side after the Hammers suffered their first defeat at home since February.

Jermaine Pennant came off the bench to score and seal a 1-0 win for the away side with Allardyce disappointed how often his side lost possession.

The former Bolton boss says the result is the culmination of a bad week after news that midfielder Alou Diarra is likely to miss the rest of the season with a serious knee ligament injury.
