England draw in Brazil feels like a victory - Roy Hodgson

Manager Roy Hodgson says England's 2-2 draw against Brazil "feels like a victory" and praises his side's "tremendous defensive work".

Second-half goals by Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Wayne Rooney put England in sight of victory, but Paulinho's late equaliser denied the away side a repeat of their win in Brazil 29 years ago.

Hodgson says his players are "desperate" to qualify for next year's World Cup in the South American nation, and thinks Sunday's fixture at the Maracana has been "very useful" in preparing for the tournament.
