England performance against San Marino pleases Wayne Rooney

England captain for the night Wayne Rooney is happy with the way his side played as they secured a comfortable 5-0 win over San Marino.

Rooney says he will remember the night for the rest of his life as he lead his country out at Wembley for the first time. He previously captained England in a 1-0 defeat by Brazil in Qatar in November 2009.

The Manchester United striker scored two goals to surpass Nat Lofthouse, Sir Tom Finney and Alan Shearer to become England's fifth highest goalscorer.
