Ferdinand should not return to the England duty - Shilton

England's most capped player Peter Shilton does not think Rio Ferdinand should be recalled by the national side following John Terry's decision to quit international football.

Manchester United central defender Ferdinand, who was not included in England's Euro 2012 for "footballing reasons", is one of a handful of candidates touted to take the vacant spot.

Former goalkeeper Shilton, who won 125 caps, believes Chelsea's Gary Cahill and Manchester City's Joleon Lescott should form England's new central defensive partnership.
