Alex McLeish believes Aston Villa should have beaten Sunderland

Aston Villa manager Alex McLeish believes his side "should have won" their match against Sunderland following a 0-0 draw at Villa Park that leaves them locked in a fight against relegation.

McLeish reckons injuries to the "imperious" and "dominant" James Collins and Gabby Agbonlahor disrupted the Villans' momentum, but still feels they had "enough chances to win the game".

The former Rangers and Birmingham boss also praises a "brilliant spot" by the assistant referee who ruled out a Nicklas Bendtner goal for offside in the second half.
