Newcastle boss Pardew call Brighton FA Cup defeat 'galling'

Newcastle manager Alan Pardew admits defeat to Brighton in the FA Cup fourth round was "galling", revealing he found it "hard to criticise" his players after they "controlled the game for long periods".

Pardew praises his players' "commitment to the game and attitude" as "spot on", lamenting injuries that prevented Fabricio Coloccini, Demba Ba and Pappis Cisse from participating and crediting Will Buckley's deflected winner as having a "big slice of fortune".
