Richard Scudamore calls scrapping relegation 'ridiculous'

Premier League chief executive Richard Scudamore says the talk of scrapping relegation makes "absolutely no sense at all" and dismisses the idea as "ridiculous" and "nonsensical".

Scudamore tells BBC Sport's Gordon Farquhar not a single club is interested in the notion and says some of the league's American owners are "appalled" at the idea they've been dragged into scaremongering about relegation.

Scudamore also discusses Liverpool managing director Ian Ayre's comments about overseas television rights distribution, revealing there is always an "ongoing discussion" about the division of money, but that there is never a consensus to change it.
