Redknapp rues 'worst-ever pre-season'

Tottenham Hotspur boss Harry Redknapp says constant speculation about the future of his players, Luka Modric in particular, has been unsettling and says this has been his worst-ever pre-season.

Speaking after his team's 5-1 home defeat by Manchester City, Redknapp discusses media speculation that Chelsea are set to make a £40m bid for Modric and that Stoke are preparing a bid for Peter Crouch.

Redknapp also adds that selling the Croatian midfielder in the remaining days of the transfer window would leave Spurs "up the swanny."
