Ian Rush says Liverpool must work hard to develop team

Former Liverpool striker Ian Rush believes there is "light at the end of the tunnel" for the Anfield club, but says there is more hard work to be done to improve on last season's sixth-placed finish.

The Welshman predicts new £20m signing Jordan Henderson will be a regular England international soon and says the midfielder will learn from captain Steven Gerrard.

Rush is also heartened that members of the academy set-up made a first-team breakthrough towards the end of last season.
