Rob Ghahremani: Wheelchair tennis star back on court

Wheelchair tennis player Rob Ghahremani is hoping to battle his way back up the rankings after recently returning to action following a year out injured.

A self-confessed sports addict, the 23-year-old from Nottingham broke his leg while trying to work on his fitness training in a Mixed Martial Arts cage.

Law student Ghahremani, who was paralysed just beneath the shoulders in a car crash at ten months old, also plays zone hockey and wheelchair basketball and coaches the latter.

Ghahremani reached 220 in the world before his injury and was on the rise. And, although his injury has halted his progress, he is back on the tennis court at the Nottingham Indoor Wheelchair Tennis Tournament, which started on Wednesday.
