Briton Ujah third in Stockholm 100m

Britain's Chijindu Ujah finished third in the Stockholm Diamond League 100m as World bronze medallist Nesta Carter took victory in 9.96 seconds.

Ujah, omitted from the individual 100m at the Commonwealth Games and European Championships, clocked 10.10 to finish behind the Jamaican and Keston Bledman.

European bronze medallist Harry Aikines-Aryeetey was fifth in 10.20.

Commonwealth silver medallist Laura Weightmanexternal-link came last in the 1500m, which was won by USA's Jenny Simpson.

American Olympic champion Allyson Felix pipped compatriot Tori Bowie in the 200m.

The London 2012 gold medallist overtook her rival in the straight to finish in 22.85 seconds.

There was disappointment for two of the other big names competing.

France's Olympic men's pole vault champion Renaud Lavillenie endured three failures on his opening height of 5.60m, while in the 100m hurdles, Olympic and Commonwealth champion Sally Pearson was disqualified for a false start.

The next Diamond League meeting is the Birmingham Grand Prix, which takes place on Sunday and will be live on the BBC from 14:00-17:00 BST.
