Shakes-Drayton storms into semis

Great Britain's Perri Shakes-Drayton makes it into semi-finals of the 400m hurdles as she wins her heat in 54.44 seconds.

Shakes-Drayton finished ahead of Russia's Natalya Antyukh and defending champion Lashinda Demus of the USA, revealing afterwards that she feels "mentally stronger" than in previous championships, due to her improved experience.

The British number one has the third-fastest time in the world so far this year behind favourite Zuzana Hejnova of the Czech Republic and the USA's Kori Carter who is absent from the championships.
