Elliott Dorey wins Jersey 10k despite wrong turn

Elliott Dorey leads the race

Elliott Dorey won the Jersey Spartans FCI 10k road race in St Ouen despite taking a wrong turn.

He went the wrong way with 3km left but two competitors called out to him and sportingly waited before continuing the race.

Dorey went on to win in 35 minutes 18 seconds, 36 seconds ahead of Nick Saunders, with Tom Perchard a second further back in third place.

Jo Gorrod was the first woman across the line in 38 minutes 41 seconds.
