Sellors set a new PB on his way to victory in Sunday's race

Rob Sellors claimed victory in the Salclear Isle of Man Marathon on Sunday with a new personal best time.

The Manx fell runner won the race in a time of 2 hours 54 minutes and 20 seconds, one minute and nine seconds ahead of Leamington's Dave Potter.

Kevin Deakes, of the Northern Athletics Club, completed the top three, a further three minutes back.

Nikki Boyde, also of the Northern Club was the leading woman and 12th overall in a time of 3:19:13.

Meanwhile, Gloucestershire's Mike Smith won the men's half-marathon after edging victory over Ed Gumbley in a sprint finish.

Another sprint finish saw Gail Griffiths pip Gemma Adams of Preston Harriers to win the ladies event.
