Manx Youth Games
Around 10,000 Manx children have competed in the Youth Games since 2002

The Isle of Man's largest multi-sport event for children has been officially launched in Douglas.

The Manx Youth Games will see more than 1,000 children compete in 13 different sports including athletics, swimming and football.

Education Minister Graham Cregeen MHK said the games, now in their 16th year, can be a "stepping stone to lifelong involvement in sport".

The event will be held on 6 May and based at the National Sports Centre.
