Newquay's Fistral beach has secured a deal that will see the Zapcat National Surf Championships visit Cornwall for the next three years.
The prestigious powerboat competition is expected to attract thousands of visitors to the area.
Nick Webb from the International Surf Centre at Fistral told BBC Cornwall: "Event-led tourism is a very important part of what we do here in Cornwall.
"If you're into, boats, motorsport, or surfing - Zapcats tick a lot of boxes.
"This is a spectacular race," Webb continued. "You don't see these boats every day of the week.
"They come down twice a year and that's the chance that you get to come and watch."
The Zapcat Championships will visit Fistral for two rounds this year, the first being in May (7-8), before returning at the end of September.
