We are all unique in so many ways, with experiences and moments that have shaped who we are. But how often do you get to stand up and share your truth, your story, your experience?
This November, BBC Radio 1 is launching ‘Minute Of Me’, an opportunity for you to come on-air for one minute with the microphone completely to yourself.
If you feel like you’re not heard or seen by the people around you, or if the story of who you are deserves to be heard and celebrated, then this is your chance!
So, maybe this is your opportunity to tell the world about a motto you live by; maybe you have a unique talent to share; or a personal tale to tell. Maybe it’s a simple truth you want to spread; or a way of life you need the world to know about; or perhaps you want to make everyone smile, or laugh, or think. It could be that a piece of advice has had an impact on your life; or perhaps it’s an experience that has shaped you; or your life had a turning point. Maybe what you want to say is actually something you’ve never told anybody before, but think speaking out on national BBC Radio 1 is the perfect thing…
Whatever it is, you have one minute to tell everyone about this story, this thing that completely defines you. Taking to the mic as the nation listens, this is your opportunity to own your truth and own our airwaves.
Here are some examples from Jacob and Lucy to get you inspired.
So, over to you… what will you use your time on BBC Radio 1 to say? Use the form below to tell us about you & your story.
All details you provide here will be confidential. We may contact you to discuss your story further and to evaluate you for possible inclusion as part of ‘Minute of Me’. The closing date for submissions is 23:59 on 19th November 2020.
