Your Stories

I have seen the BMX Bandits at least 20 times over the years. In Glasgow, Stirling and Edinburgh. Every time they came on stage they would have a different line up with lots of cameos from Teenage Fanclub members, or Eugene Kelly, or John McCusker or various other luminaries of the Glasgow scene.

Always fantastic nights in King Tuts, or the Cathouse or the QMU - all places I reminisce about now I don't stay in Glasgow.

But my favourite Bandits memory is less than two months old. Finding out that they are still as good as they used to be, and in fact possibly better was the greatest feeling.

I saw them in the Bongo Club in Edinburgh in January. They did a load of the classics ( Serious Drugs, Retitled, Little Hands etc ) but they also did a bunch of new songs from their up coming new album.

These tunes are as good as anything they used to do - so it makes it feel like a current thing rather than nostalgia. Me and my flatmate enjoyed it so much that we had to steal Duglas' set list at the end of the gig like we did when we were teenagers.
