Putting our Public Purposes into action: Delivering to the public the benefit of emerging communications technologies and services.

What does this mean?

The BBC aims to help everyone in the UK to get the best out of emerging media technologies now and in the future. We make engaging digital content and services available on a wide range of digital platforms and devices. We also work in partnership with other organisations to help all audiences understand and adopt emerging communications technologies and services.

Inspiring programming

A range of content from BBC Children’s and BBC Learning encourages children across the UK to get involved with computing and coding, with new education resources, lively television series, games and competitions.

Programmes such as CBBC’s Appsolute Genius and CBeebies’ Nina And The Neurons: Go Digital, introduce young viewers to coding, computer programming and the world of technology.

And online content from BBC Learning supports primary and secondary schools across the UK, coinciding with the new computing curriculum in England, with media-rich computer science content from Bitesize, including curriculum-mapped guides using animation, graphics, video and interactive games.
