Matthew Shotton

Matthew Shotton is a Research Engineer currently working in the User Experience & Accessibility team at BBC R&D. After taking a year out from his Masters in Electronics at Manchester University to work as an Industrial Trainee in R&D Matthew decided to leave university early and apply for the Trainee Research Technologist scheme.

During the Trainee scheme Matthew has worked on image processing techniques for human recognition, 3D transmission chains, timing and synchronisation in IP based studios, and language modelling for the segmentation and improvement of subtitles.

Matthew's interests lie in a broad range of fields, from machine learning and web development to electronics hardware and mechanical design.
