[Editor: A few weeks ago we recorded a series of short films around R&D with Quentin Cooper, host of "Material World" and "Connect" on Radio 4, and science and engineering "journalist at large". We shot quite a few mini documentaries with Quentin, looking at various recent, and not so recent elements of the work at R&D, interviewing key staff and playing with various perculiar bits of kit.

The discussion explores the range of projects that the department has worked on over the year- from focussed development to blue sky research, and from the open, shared, collaborative domain to more closely guarded work.]
