One Hundred Years of Concrete
Tuesday 11 December 2007 11:30-12:00 (Radio 4 FM)
Jonathan Glancey visits Rio to meet Oscar Niemeyer, one of the greatest architects of the 20th century.
Niemeyer is responsible for extraordinary buildings all over the world, notable for their designs in curves of concrete, but will perhaps be best remembered for his work in Brasilia, built in the 1950s and 60s as the country's new capital. Most remarkable of all, he is still working as he turns 100 this month.
