US Government Under Fire Over Strict Immigration Control Measures

Almost 2000 children have been separated from their parents at the Mexican border

The US government says almost 2000 children were separated from their parents on the border with Mexico between April and May, as the Trump administration implemented stricter immigration control measures. The Department of Homeland Security said the children had been placed in detention while the adults were being held separately. Also on the programme: we look ahead to Sunday's Presidential election in Colombia and hear about a new opera set inside the closed world of a Hasidic Jewish community.
