Hannah Davey

Hannah is the sister of Francis Davey

Hannah is her brother's staunchest ally and is usually to be found at his side helping the poor of Altarnun. She is openly curious of Mary and welcomes her into the fold, encouraging her to confide tales of Jamaica Inn. Mary finds Hannah’s warmth comforting and in their church she finds the moral certainty that is so lacking at Jamaica Inn.

Hannah Davey played by Shirley Henderson...

Fife born Shirley entered the world of acting of the back of singing as her early performances led her to join school drama clubs culminating in education at Fife College and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. After a series of appearances in ITV and BBC children’s shows Shirley would then find herself appearing on the silver screen. She has appeared in the Danny Boyle film adaption of Irvine Welsh’s Trainspotting, where she played the girlfriend of Spud.
