Popstar and TV presenter
She’s sexy, sassy and super excited to be joining the Strictly family this year!
Hailing from Phoenix, Arizona, Ashley moved to Los Angeles in 2000 in hope of turning her music career dreams into reality. She soon found success with mega girl group The Pussycat Dolls, crashing into the charts in 2005 with their now-iconic debut single Don’t Cha?.
Their high-speed rise to fame is something Ashley will never forget. “That first feeling of being on stage and people singing the words back to us, that was a surreal feeling and that whole year was mind blowing. We just exploded everywhere!” she said.
Together, the girl band went on to have a string of hits, including Buttons, Beep! And Jai Ho, selling over 54 million records worldwide before Ashley departed from the group in 2010.
Fresh out of the Dolls, she worked on solo music before entering the jungle for I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! in late 2012. This marked the beginning of her glittering British TV career, going on to appear on Channel 4’s The Jump and Crystal Maze, ITV’s Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway and The Keith Lemon Sketch Show, as well as being a guest judge on BBC’s Let It Shine in 2017.
But now the tables are turning and she'll be at the mercy of the Strictly Judges! So, what is she expecting from our fabulous four? “I am hoping for constructive criticism - nuggets of information I can take and help strengthen my ability,” she said.
We’re sure they’ll have plenty of pointers for you, Ashley!
