Bringing his Adonis-like looks and magic moves to Strictly, Aljaž Škorjanec describes himself as “cheeky, charming and passionate”.
You can give something back to someone who has been giving so much for so long. It's a privilege to be part of it.Aljaž Škorjanec
His favourite dances are the Paso Doble because “it’s strong and masculine” and the Foxtrot as “everything is fluid and it feels like every move lasts forever. Also it reminds me of Frank Sinatra.”
A Strictly debutant in 2013, Aljaž clinched the prize in his first year of Strictly with Liverpudlian model and TV presenter Abbey Clancy after the first all-female final in Strictly history. The 'A-Team', as Abbey and Aljaž became known, chose to dance their beach-themed Quickstep to I'm Walking On Sunshine in the final show, pipping Natalie Gumede and Susanna Reid to the post.
Last year, Aljaž became one half of another 'A Team' after being paired with This Morning reporter, Alison Hammond. The pair laughed their way through the competition, brightening up the ballroom with their giggles until their departure in Week Seven.
And now, Aljaž has a brand new partner for the People's Strictly in the one and only Trishna Bharadia. And they're both a bit excited! Let's see how they get on...
Aljaž was brought up in a small town in Slovenia where he started dancing aged five. Signing himself up for dance lessons in nursery without his parents’ knowledge (that’s one determined child) he ended up competing for the next 13 years.
Aljaž is a nineteen-time Slovenian champion in Ballroom, Latin and Ten Dance.
Aljaž loves football and is a big Barcelona supporter.
He also loves basketball, movies, and TV shows Dexter and Game of Thrones.
The Godfather and The Departed are his favorite films of all time.
If he could have any super power it would be flying.
