This is not the case with Y Reu. One minute they sound like a louche, Welsh-singing Jim Morrison fronting Royal Blood (Darnau Bach), the next they’re melding house music with echoes of Happy Mondays… a band whose best days were far behind them well before any of Y Reu were born (Haf).

It’s good to be surprised by what young minds can cut from rock ’n’ roll’s worn cloth, and Y Reu are full of surprises.

They’re a 5 piece band from Dyffryn Nantlle / Caernarfon whose combustible live sets have already caused outbreaks of frenzied dancing from the Eisteddfod’s Maes B to Clwb Ifor Bach.

Their debut single proper was released last year by Recordiau I Ka Ching to much praise and national radio play.

The follow up is due to be recorded in the Spring of 2015 and will be released “before Summer”.

Find your dancing wellies. This year’s festivals will shake to their multifarious sounds.
