About Radio 1's Big Weekend

Radio 1’s Big Weekend - the station’s annual flagship event - will take place in Glasgow in 2014.

Over 60,000 lucky music fans will be able to enjoy performances across the weekend of 23-25 May.

On Friday night Radio 1 will be getting the Big Weekend party started by broadcasting live from the iconic George Square in Glasgow.

Radio 1's Annie Mac, Pete Tong, Zane Lowe and Danny Howard will be joined by Martin Garrix and Tiësto.

Saturday and Sunday will be similar to previous Big Weekend events, with a Main stage, an In New Music We Trust tent and a BBC Introducing stage at Glasgow Green.

Headling Saturday's Main Stage with be Coldplay, with Example headling the In New Music We Trust Stage. Sunday is the turn of Kasabian on the INMWT stage and Katy Perry closing the weekend from the Main Stage.

All tickets have now been allocated. However you can watch the whole weekend live, here on the Big Weekend website, plus it will be broadcast on Radio 1, 1Xtra and BBC Three. 

In the lead up to the Big Weekend, the Radio 1 Academy is also coming to Glasgow. Radio 1 hopes to inspire local 16-19 year olds by inviting them to attend a series of radio shows, masterclasses and Q&A’s from Saturday 10 - Friday 16 May. More details coming soon.
