Hailing from Dublin, Tristan was a part of the Strictly family for two series. Specialising in both ballroom and latin, Tristan was All Ireland Dance Champion in 2000.

After years of competing, Tristan found his feet on the stage and appeared in many successful shows including Dirty Dancing, Burn The Floor, and Floorplay. He also appeared in the film Ella Enchanted.

Tristan went to America to join Dancing With The Stars in Season 12 and returned each year until Season 17, partnering up with celebrities including Pamela Anderson, Nancy Grace, Gladys Knight, Dorothy Hamill and Valerie Harper.

In 2014 Tristan was partnered with Irish actress Jennifer Gibney. Unfortunately, the couple never quite managed to hit their stride and were voted off in week three of the series after dancing to ABBA's ‘Mamma Mia’ on Movie Week. They competed in the bottom two against Blue star Simon Webbe and his partner Kristina Rihanoff.

In 2015 Tristan was teamed up with popstar Jamelia and made it to Blackpool before bowing out. The couple hold the record for surviving the most dance offs in Strictly history.

When it comes to dancing, Tristan’s preferences are for story-oriented routines and he particularly likes the Rumba and the Foxtrot. Favouring a laid back style in his teaching methods, he says: “I want my partner to feel as comfortable as possible. I’ll try to take all of the stress out of the situation and have as much fun as possible at the same time.”


Tristan began dancing in Dublin, Ireland, before competing around Europe, winning numerous junior and amateur competitions.

He’s married to the Australian actress, model and dancer Tahyna Tozzi. The couple married in early 2014 after previously being together for five years.


Tristan is a big football and Gaelic sports fan, he supports Leeds.

Tristan enjoys outdoor activities like hiking, mountaineering, and cycling - Oh, and he’s a fan of tattoos too!
