More about Miranda

Miranda is BBC1’s The One Show’s wildlife expert, presenting natural history sorties from around the country on the show for the last 5 years. As a biologist and diver she is one of the original Coast team members, and is currently working on series 9 and 10 of this BAFTA award winning show.

Recently branching into radio, Miranda is also a regular on BBC Radio 4’s Costing the Earth and Living World.

Miranda is President of the RSPB, vice president of The Rivers & Canals Trust and Patron of WDC and the Alderney Wildlife Trust. She is also involved with The National Trust, WWT, Sustrans, and SCS, and a supporter of many other charities as well.

Miranda was born in Buckinghamshire and as long as she can remember, she has always loved to be outdoors. Much of her early childhood was spent at the top of an old copper beech tree in her parents' garden or walking barefoot in the local woods. Her passion for wildlife started early on by observing animals in the wild and keeping a veritable menagerie at home in the laundry room!
