Returner Joe from Jersey narrowly missed getting to the finals last year and this time he is determined to go all the way to the banquet.
Joe took an unconventional path to becoming a chef – first he studied English at Durham University and then gained a Master's degree in finance in London before giving it all up to become a chef.
Although he was constantly cooking and working in kitchens he finally made the leap to become a chef full-time at May The Fifteenth in South London and various other restaurants around the world.
Largely self-taught he moved back to Jersey in 2016 to open his own restaurant, No 10 in St Helier serving modern British and European cuisine.
This year his personal menu reflects his passion for reading as a child.
