Helen Stalker is Curator, Fine Art at the Whitworth art gallery, which is part of the University of Manchester. She has worked in museums and art galleries for almost twenty years in a variety of exhibition and collection management roles. After completing a degree in Fine Art at the University of Northumbria, Helen went on to work at the V&A Theatre Museum, Covent Garden and Tate Liverpool. She has an MA in Art Gallery and Museum Studies from the University of Manchester. As a curator at the Whitworth, Helen is responsible for delivering a range of exhibitions both historic and contemporary as well as researching and interpreting the gallery’s wonderful collection of almost 55,000 works of art and design. An artist by training, Helen continues to paint and draw when time allows.
