Our first ever Welsh Pro has both eyes on the prize
|Fact title||Fact data|
New to the Strictly family in 2017, Amy made history by being the first ever Welsh professional to enter the Ballroom. She may be a long way from her hometown of Caerphilly, but that hasn’t stopped her setting her sights high.
Amy’s students say she can be strict and is quite the perfectionist, which her first dancing partner Brian Conley quickly found out! However, the duo only made it to week four of the competition. Amy faired better the following year with actor Danny John-Jules, the pair scored the very first 10 of Strictly 2018, but sadly their journey was cut short in week eight of the competition.
Our Welsh wonder first started dancing at the age of eight, and hasn’t looked back since. She was the 2017 British National Champion and remains one of the highest-ranking Ballroom and Latin American professional dancers in the UK. Amy is also a four-time British National Finalist and in 2015, she reached the semi-final of the World Championship.
While she’s fairly new to the Strictly family, Amy’s a familiar face to many of the team, having crossed paths with many of her fellow Pros on the competition circuit.
