Meet Davood Ghadami

“I’m really up for trying all the sequin clothes... It’s quite liberating actually.”

Davood is bringing major muscle to the dancefloor with both eyes firmly on that Glitterball Trophy.

I’m looking forward to witnessing Bruno’s energy and seeing how Shirley Ballas fits in on the panel

Familiar face Davood is sure to set hearts a flutter when he hits the Strictly ballroom this year, having gained an army of adoring fans since joining EastEnders in 2014 as heartthrob Kush Kazemi.

Known for his numerous on-screen romances and shirtless scenes – which he admits has caused a spike in his number of Twitter followers – Davood is sure to feel right at home in his new skin-tight Strictly wardrobe.

But before he began breaking hearts in Albert Square, Davood made his first TV appearance in The Bill back in 2005, going on to star in Dr Who, Taggart, Silent Witness, Life’s Too Short, Law & Order: UK and Top Boy, as well as completing successful runs at The National Theatre and York Theatre Royal.

Ten years after first hitting our screens, he was nominated for Best Newcomer at the 2015 British Soap Awards, as well as showing off his impressive physique on the cover of Attitude magazine’s Naked issue in the same year.

Outside of showbiz, he’s a father of two, fitness fanatic and CrossFit lover, which will surely stand him in good stead for the intense training regime that lies ahead – and he’ll definitely be putting up a good fight on the dancefloor too. “I am quite competitive, but the experience is just as important as winning.”

“I do not want to be the first to be voted off... oh, and I want to win it.”
