Rebecca Ferguson: ‘When I tried to speak about racism, doors were closed'

Singer-songwriter Rebecca Ferguson has said she hasn’t been “vocal” about racism she’s faced because she is “not strong enough to fight this battle”.

Speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live’s Emma Barnett, she said people who speak out about issues such as racism or sexual abuse in the creative industries “get shut down and their careers get ended”.

This clip is originally from The Emma Barnett Show on Monday 29 June 2020.
