The Afghan women turning their food carts into disinfection units
The Covid-19 pandemic has ruined countless businesses but for some it has brought new opportunities. In Afghanistan dozens of women who were selling snacks around Kabul found themselves jobless when lockdown closed their businesses. So they converted their solar powered food carts into mobile disinfection units to tackle the outbreak. The person behind this project is Farhad Wajdee. He's the head of Ebtakar, a social enterprise NGO that helped around 80 women set up their mobile food-cart businesses.
