Happy Heads Volunteering
As part of the BBC’s Make A Difference Happy Heads campaign which highlights the impact of the pandemic on children’s mental health, we’re asking you to give your time to support a child or young person. We want to capture the kindness shown by communities across the country who have helped and supported each other during the pandemic.
Below is a list of organisations here in Suffolk that rely on volunteers to carry out their work.
Suffolk Young People’s Health Project (4YP) - 4YP offers volunteering placements available in all areas of the Project ranging from youth work to fundraising. We also regularly welcome work experience placements and participants in other work schemes.
For more information regarding a volunteering placement with us at 4YP please email: email@example.com or call 01473252607
Volunteering Matters – Grand Mentors Project / EQUIP project - Grandmentors provide a vital link for young people as they navigate life after care.
Our Grandmentors come from a wide range of backgrounds and all walks of life, enabling them to understand and meet the range of needs of their mentees. Our trained volunteers, aged 50 and over, forge trusting and positive relationships that support, challenge and empower mentees to unlock their own skills and to shape their own futures.

Porch Project- The porch project offers support and/or facilities to children (from pre-birth) and young adults (up to and including the mid 20's) as a positive route towards their physical, mental, social, educational and emotional well-being.
We do not work in isolation; our youth workers aspire to work closely with a range of other charities and organisations to provide joined up and integrated support based on the current needs of our age group and their associated family members.
