How malaria could be defeated
Each year there are more than 200 million cases of malaria which mostly kills young children. In a major report in the medical journal, the Lancet, forty-one of the world's leading malaria experts - ranging from scientists to economists - have concluded that eradicating this disease can be done by 2050, but wiping out the parasite is likely to need a further $2bn of funding every year. One of the scientists involved in the report is Dr Fred Binka, from the University of Health and Allied Sciences in Ghana.
