Helping my son understand his mum's death

Writer and commentator Robert Colvile spoke to 5 Live about the difficulty of helping his young son understand his mum’s death. Robert’s wife Andrea died from a rare condition known as autoimmune hepatitis.

This type of liver disease, which affects approximately 10,000 people in the UK, occurs when your immune system attacks your liver cells.

Robert said he wants something good to come out of his wife's death - so he set up a fundraiser for research into autoimmune liver disease in Andrea's name.
