Martin Lewis: The council tax discount you might not know about
Martin Lewis has told BBC Radio 5 Live about a council tax exemption which people might not be aware of.
Speaking to Emma Barnett, he explained that people diagnosed with a severe mental impairment (SMI) don’t have to pay the tax, and in a two-person household, where one person has that diagnosis, they would qualify for a 25% discount.
SMI could include people with dementia and those who've had a stroke.
