Has the body positive movement lost its radical roots?
‘Body positivity’ is a social movement rooted in the belief that we should be more accepting of the way our bodies look. Social media has created spaces for marginalised groups - disabled women, women of colour, plus size women - to love themselves and their bodies. But as the net has widened and become more mainstream, has the term ‘body positivity’ lost its radical roots? Who does it belong to and what is the point of the movement?
