'...In Beijing, there were only ten lesbians and me - I was the only gay in the village ...' - Matthew Mitcham on Pride House

It's been ten years since Australian diver Matthew Mitcham came out as gay.

Months after doing that, he gold in the diving at the Beijing Olympics - and, since then, has become an Australian sporting hero.

Now, he's backing Pride House Gold Coast - an LGBTIQ+ friendly venue for athletes, fans and supporters at the Commonwealth Games.

He's been speaking to our reporter Sarah Bailey, alongside Matt Hall - who has helped to bring Pride House to the Gold Coast.
