Why scientists want their boat to get stuck in Arctic ice
Researchers are planning perhaps the largest expedition to the Arctic in order to investigate unusually warm winters. The plan is to sail a research vessel north, get stuck in the ice as it freezes in winter and then hope it'll drift over the North Pole as the ice cap moves.
Dr Marcel Nicolaus is an expert on sea ice from the Alfred Wegener Institut in Germany and he's going on the expedition.
