Do church services in northern Europe lack joy?

The Church of England, the centre of the worldwide Anglican Church, faces a week of controversy at its Synod, or central policy meeting. Once again, the most divisive issue is marriage equality - whether the Church should be marrying same sex couples, but falls in attendance and how to make Christianity relevant to more people will also be discussed. Dan Damon spoke to the Anglican theologian Professor John Mbiti, an adviser to the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, about the differences between his experiences of worship in Africa and northern Europe. "I don't blame them wanting a lie-in on Sundays," said an adviser.
