Stranger Things star: My determination ‘kept me going’
Stranger Things’ stars Gaten Matarazzo and Caleb McLaughlin say previous rejections for roles made them stronger.
Caleb McLaughlin, who plays Lucas in the hit Netflix show, told 5 live: “We don’t always get every job. I feel that when you don’t get jobs it builds your confidence, and gets your skin thicker”.
Gaten Matarazzo, who plays Dustin, has cleidocranial dysplasia, a rare condition that affects how bones and teeth develop and can delay development of adult teeth.
He said, “my lisp, me being shorter, and having the teeth issue' meant writers couldn't 'write in my disability'.”
He told 5live Afternoon Edition's Nihal Arthanayake, his 'own determination' kept him going.
